Shakeb Hamdard shot to fame in 2005 by his participation in the first ever season of Afghan Star which ws broadcast on Tolo TV. Afghan Star became a huge success and this also resulted in Shakeb Hamdard being catapulted into fame when he became the eventual winner of the first season of Afghan Star.
After his success with Afghan Star, Shakeb Hamdard released two video clips which became very popular, especially Gul Dana Dana. However, Shakeb had more important things on his mind, because he was keen to release his first CD. Together with Barbud Music, Shakeb spend a total of about 12 months working on his CD and the recording aspects of the songs. The result is the first CD ever by Shakeb Hamdard and the second CD of Barbud Music, called "Mashallah". This is also the name of the first released single from this CD. Watch the video of Mashallah.
